Manila 3rd district Rep. Joel Chua has vowed to continue to take to task Sara Duterte for her "failures" both as the country's vice president and Department of Education (DepEd) chief.
The House Committee on Metro Manila Development vice chairman had this to say following an assurance from President Marcos that Duterte would remain in the Cabinet as education chief.
"We will continue to hold her accountable for her failures as Vice President and DepEd Secretary. She is not exempt from being held accountable," Chua said.
"Our call is for Secretary Duterte to resign out of decency or delicadeza because her being there is detrimental to education as a matter of accountability, character, integrity, and competence," added the lawyer-solon.
Chua earlier criticized the Vice President and concurrent DepEd secretary for being a fence-sitter and for "pretending to be a full partner of the President [Marcos]".

"Her family unleashed a barrage of insults and attacks directly to the President and yet she does nothing and is still enjoying the perks of being part of the official family," the solon said.
Vice President Duterte's father is Marcos administration critic, former president Rodrigo Duterte.
Chua was among the House members who empathized with First Lady Liiza Araneta-Marcos, who recently made viral statements that were critical of the Vice President--the country’s second highest-ranked official.
