LTO chief Vigor Mendoza graced the blessing of the new licensing office which was moved from N. Bacalso Ave. to Gov. M. Cuenco Ave. in Barangay Talamban.

The old LTO-7 building on N. Bacalso Ave. will only house the offices of the regional director and other administration personnel.

The transfer to the new office was made possible through the support of private proponents, said Mendoza.

“I want to thank the LTO-7 for being proactive. Thank you to our private proponents. We don't have to have to wait for funds from the government,” said Mendoza.

LTO-7 Regional Director Glen Galario was not around during the formal opening of the office as he was in Manila to take his oath as permanent chief of the regional agency.

Air-conditioned, well-lighted, and spacious, the new office should be replicated in other areas, said Mendoza.

Mendoza said it has been his policy that all LTO offices are well-maintained and comfortable for transacting public.

“No more ugly offices. My instruction to regional directors was that I will hold them accountable for offices that gives bad experience to the transacting public. There are offices that are very hot, no chairs. Personally, if I see an office that is not well-maintained, I don’t want to enter anymore. The vibe is already negative,” said Mendoza.

Mendoza added apart from having a comfortable office, it should be the kind of service that will be given to the public that is important.

“This office has a good vibe. I’m happy that there are many nice LTO offices in Cebu. But what’s important is the kind of service that we give. We should serve the public well,” said Mendoza.

Mendoza said having the new office will make the LTO-7 more efficient. “We really want to spread out our offices so we can serve more people.”
