No prescribed colors for alternate uniforms --- DepEd

Teaching, non-teaching personnel may wear any existing DepEd collared shirts amid hot weather

Following its announcement of alternate uniforms for teaching and non-teaching personnel amid the hot weather, the Department of Education (DepEd) on Tuesday, April 16, clarified there are no “prescribed colors” for the DepEd collared shirts.

DepEd Undersecretary and Spokesperson Michael Poa, in a Viber message, told reporters that there are “no prescribed colors” for the DepEd collared shirt.

“Any existing DepEd collared may be worn),” Poa said.

He explained that teachers and non-teaching staff can wear any DepEd collared shirt they already have and have used in various DepEd activities such as the Palarong Pambansa, Brigada Eskwela, and Balik Eskwela, among others.

Moreover, Poa stressed that DepEd teachers and non-teaching personnel could wear “any white collared shirt with DepEd and MATATAG logo” as an additional option.

“Again, dagdag na option lang po ito (It's just an additional option),” Poa said. “Teaching and non-teaching staff may wear any DepEd collared shirt, of any color, that they already have,” he added.

DepEd, on April 15, issued guidelines on alternate uniforms for both teaching and non-teaching personnel amid the hot weather experienced nationwide.
