- Marcos directed all government offices to set the standard in conserving energy and minimizing power consumption.
President Marcos urged Filipinos to work with the government to ensure a stable power supply by conserving energy in light of the Red and Yellow Alerts in the Luzon Grid.

Marcos said this after the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) raised the said alert level status in the Luzon Grid on Tuesday, April 16.
In an X post, the President called for a whole-of-government approach to resolve the issue.
He said he has ordered the Department of Energy (DOE) to closely monitor and coordinate with all stakeholders to address the situation.
He likewise directed all government offices to set the standard in conserving energy and minimizing power consumption.
Meanwhile, President Marcos said it was important that Filipinos also work with the government in this endeavor.
"It is crucial that we all work together to ensure a stable power supply for the next couple of days," he said.
"Let's adopt energy-efficient practices and stand together to overcome this challenge," he added.
In January, Marcos issued Administrative Order (AO) No. 15, ordering all government agencies to accelerate the implementation of the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP) to conserve energy amid the high demand due to the El Niño.
The GEMP is a government-wide program aimed at reducing the government's monthly consumption of electricity and petroleum products through efficient use and conservation of energy and fuel, among others.
The agencies are directed to comply with the Department of Energy (DOE)'s Guidelines on Energy Conserving Design of Buildings and the Philippine Green Building Code for new building construction and retrofits.
They must also adopt low-cost energy efficiency and conservation (EEC) measures such as maintaining a temperature of 24 degrees Celsius in airconditioned spaces, turning off unused lights and air-conditioning units, and activating sleep settings on office equipment.
Marcos also told agencies to institutionalize EEC in their respective offices and establish a mechanism for monitoring the energy consumption in their respective offices.
