Phivolcs observes another 'short-lived' phreatic eruption at Taal Volcano
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said a four-minute phreatic eruption occurred at Taal Volcano in the past 24 hours.

Phivolcs said it observed the phreatic eruption event in the Taal Main Crater at 10:31 a.m. on April 13, which lasted around four minutes producing 600 meter-tall steam plumes before drifting west-northwest.

In its advisory on Sunday, April 14, Phivolcs said a volcanic tremor with a duration of six minutes was also recorded during the 24-hour monitoring of the volcano.
Meanwhile, the sulfur dioxide (SO2) gas emission decreased from 9,677 tons per day on April 11 to 4,709 tons per day on April 13, said Phivolcs.
Moreover, the plume coming out from the Taal Main Crater was recorded 1,800-meter high drifting west-southwest.
Phivolcs said Taal Volcano remains under Alert Level 1, which means that it is still at low-level of unrest.
