War against disease: Gordon urges public to vaccinate children amid measles outbreak
Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Richard Gordon urged parents to vaccinate their children to prevent further outbreaks.

In a statement on Friday, April 12, the chairman emphasized the importance of following through with vaccination schedules of children as soon as possible.
“It’s important that people realize that they have to be vaccinated as fast as possible,” he said.
“Giyera ito, digmaan laban sa sakit at kailangan natin ng sapat na sandata para malabanan at mapuksa ‘yung kumakalat na mga sakit na nakamamatay lalo na sa mga kabataan na walang kalaban-laban (This is a war, a war against disease and we need enough weapons to fight and eradicate the spreading diseases that kill especially young people who have no resistance),” Gordon added in a mix of English and Filipino.
The organization successfully vaccinated 11,124 children against measels in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
