Select Watsons stores offering flu vaccinations with pertussis, see participating locations
And who is eligible to get it
As of March 30, 2024, the Department of Health (DOH) has reported 1,112 cases of Pertussis, also known as whooping cough, with 54 recorded deaths. The disease is continuously spreading across different regions in the Philippines, mainly hitting children below five years of age.

To help the Department of Health (DOH) combat the rising cases of Pertussis disease spread in specific regions across the Philippines, Watsons is offering Pertussis vaccines to walk-in customers at selected stores. These stores include SM Megamall, SM Bacoor, and SM Iloilo. Vaccines are offered on a first-come-first-served basis for P2,469, and in limited stocks only. This initiative aims to curb the spread of the disease.
“We are taking a proactive stance in supporting our local government's efforts to combat the rising cases of Pertussis and curb its spread through our vaccination initiative,” Jared De Guzman, Watsons Philippines Customer Director said in a press statement. “Vaccines will be available for walk-ins in select Watsons stores, ensuring accessibility and convenience for our customers.”

While Pertussis cases are prevalent among children, Watsons can only administer the vaccines to individuals aged 18 years old and above. For senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWD), and pregnant women, a doctor's approval is necessary before vaccination. Individuals aged 17 years old and below are advised to consult a pediatrician for proper assessment as vaccines cannot be administered in-store.
