Something for your dainty summertime dressing

Fashion trends don’t just emerge on the runways or the pages of the magazine these days. The style game now is also active online. In the past years, we have seen different fashion “cores” take the spotlight on social media. Think of the pink madness caused by Barbiecore, or the westerncore with its passion for cowboy style, and the aquatic fantasy caused by mermaidcore. The latest inclusion to social media’s fashion predictions is coquette, an ultra-romantic aesthetic that revolves around florals, bows, lace, and ballet flats.
Ballet flats are one of the pieces many street-style fashionistas and celebrities wear today. And with many fashion houses continuing to present their modern interpretations, it looks like these comfy pairs are here to stay. If you, too, want to channel ballet’s grace and charm to your ‘fit, these luxury brands are bringing to the Philippines their take on ballet flats.

Swiss luxury brand Bally introduces its contemporary flats, inspired by its archival 1940s design. Aptly called the Ballyrina, the flats mirror the brand’s history in supporting the ballet study during World War II. It manufactured shoes in Schöftland that feature ribbons and reinforced toes to allow dancing en pointe. Today, the brand revisits its legacy and produces a new collection, showcasing flats in pastel blue and timeless neutral glitter styles.

Fendi’s take on the ballet flats reflects its Italian heritage. First seen on its spring-summer 2024 show, the Fendi Filo features a linking thread (or ‘filo’ in Italian) and metallic golden anklet. It comes in tones of light blue, neutral beige, classic black, and warm brown. A statement exotic version in karung leather is colored in beige to emphasize the natural beauty of the pattern.
Discover more of Bally’s latest pieces at its stores in Rustan’s Makati, Shangri-La Plaza, City of Dreams, Power Plant Mall, and Newport Mall. The Fendi Filo, on the other hand, is now available at its store in Greenbelt 3 in Makati City.
