NBI forms task force to pinpoint perpetrators of human body parts inside a sack in Bacolod City
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has formed a task force to pinpoint the perpetrators of dismembered human body parts inside a sack found near its office in Bacolod City last Friday, March 1.
In a statement, the NBI said Director Medardo G. De Lemos himself ordered the creation of the task force "to thoroughly conduct an investigation and apprehend those who are behind this nefarious act."
The task force is headed by NBI Deputy Director for Operations JOse Justo S. Yap.
Citing initial reports, the NBI said “the sack containing the dismembered human body parts was first noticed by a makeshift storeowner across the NBI-BACDO (Bacolod District Office) office.”
“She (storeowner) disclosed that she initially assumed that the sack contains frozen food, which fell off on the NBI vehicle. She then asked an NBI volunteer to bring the sack near the NBI-BACDO gate and then called the attention of an NBI Job Order (JO) employee, who in turn opened the sack, which revealed to be dismembered left arm, left leg from the knees, and two (2) ears,” it said.
It also said the NBI-BACDO agent-in-charge was informed of the incident and, in turn, called the assistance of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
“The PNP took over the custody of the dismembered human body parts,” it added.
