Another ranking member of the House of Representatives has expressed dismay over the way the Pulse Asia survey on Filipinos' stance on Charter change (Cha-cha) was carried out.
According to House Deputy Majority Leader Iloilo 1st district Rep. Janette Garin, they was an apparent attempt to "sway public opinion" with the poll on the topic of whether or not constitutional amendments should be pursued.
“Surveys should reflect the real concerns of the people, not push a particular agenda,” Garin said in a statement Sunday, March 31.
She said that surveys should seek to "accurately reflect ongoing legislative discussions".
“The people’s voice should be heard directly through a plebiscite, not through biased surveys,” Garin added.
The lady lawmaker echoed the position of fellow House leaders Deputy Speaker Quezon 2nd district Rep. David "Jay-jay" Suarez and Majority Leader Zamboanga City 2nd district Rep. Mannix Dalipe, who slammed the March survey for including political-themed questions in its questions to the poll respondents.

The Pulse Asia survey results showed that the vast majority or 74 percent of Filipinos didn't want the Constitution amended as of now.
It was only last March 20 when the House voted 288-8-2 (yes-no-abstain) to pass on third and final reading the proposed economic Cha-cha, as embodied in Resolution of Both Houses (RBH) No.7.
