Filipinos below 18 years of age travelling to Singapore sans parents for Taylor Swift's concert need clearance from DSWD
Filipinos below 18 years of age who intend to travel to Singapore without their parents to attend the New Era’s concert of American singer Taylor Swift have to secure a clearance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Bureau of Immigration (BI) reminded on Sunday, March 3.
The BI also reminded concert-goers to fill out their e-travel 72 hours prior to departure, and check-in at least three hours prior to their flight.
Commissioner Norman Tansingco said the advisory was issued as the bureau sees a rise in the travel to Singapore due to the concert of Taylor Swift in the city-state scheduled this March 2, 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9.
“We are expecting an increase in travelers during the first week of March during the Taylor Swift concert period, and of course as the summer season enters,” said Tansingco.
He estimated that about 150,000 Filipinos would travel to Singapore during the first week of March. The number does not yet include those who intend to attend the concert in Singapore.
He stressed that Filipinos below 18 years of age who are traveling as tourists alone or accompanied by persons other than their parents are required “to secure a travel clearance from the DSWD.”
