4 foreigners 'convicted of sex offenses' barred entry to Philippines
Four foreigners "convicted of sex offenses" in their countries have been barred from entering the Philippines, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said.
The BI identified them as Briton Malcolm Ferderick Beaumont, 79; and Americans Ennis Cheko Montgomery, 55; Vincent Mariano Espinal, Jr., 39; and Chad Heitz, 44.
Aside from barring their entry, the four foreigners were included in the BI's blacklist that would stop their re-entry to the Philippines, the BI said.
It said that Montgomery arrived lst March 28, while Beaumont arrived last March 27. The two other foreigners arrived earlier this month, it also said.
It said that Montgomery had been convicted in 1989 in San Francisco, California "of predatory criminal sexual assault with his victim being only 11 years old.”
Beaumont, on the other hand, was “convicted in 2012 and in 2017 for making indecent images of children.”
The BI said that Espinal, who arrived at the NAIA last March 22 from Guam, was found to have been “convicted in 2008 in Guam for one count of third degree criminal sexual conduct as a second-degree felony.”
“A 2009 news article described him of being accused of having sexual relations with a female minor,” it said.
Heitz arrived last March 16 from Hong Kong. The BI said "a US district court in Michigan convicted Heitz in 2013 of one count of criminal sexual misconduct wherein the victim is a 15-year-old minor."
