On March 21, 2024, Silverlens marked its 20th anniversary with a celebration held at a warehouse in Makati City. The event featured a private preview of its milestone exhibition titled “Markers: Silverlens @ 20,” highlighting significant works in photography, painting, textiles, and installations. Attendees, including collectors, creatives, artists, and friends, gathered at Silverlens Manila for an unforgettable night of entertainment and celebration, honoring gallery co-directors Rachel Rillo and Isa Lorenzo.

“Tonight we celebrate 20 years of art, exhibitions, artists, collaborators, collectors, teams, relationships, milestones, people. We started Silverlens in 2004, but really we would be nothing without all of you,” exclaimed Lorenzo.

Artists Wawa Navarozza, Pow Martinez, and Isabel Aquilizan delivered special performances, while rock band Barbie’s Cradle, comprising Barbie Almalbis, Rommel dela Cruz, Kakay Legaspi, and Wendell Garcia, reunited for the occasion. The night featured explosive performances by drag queens and pop hits from Moira Lang and DJ Xtina Superstar. Celebrity Chef Margarita Forés treated guests to a delicious dinner from Cibo di Marghi, complemented by Brujo Craft Beer.

A special exhibition, featuring a handpicked selection of works from past exhibitions that highlight pivotal moments in Silverlens’ illustrious history, is on display from March 22 to April 17, 2024. Participating artists include Martha Atienza, Corinne de San Jose, Patricia Perez Eustaquio, Nona Garcia, Pow Martinez, Wawi Navarroza, Gina Osterloh, Bernardo Pacquing, Gary-Ross Pastrana, Norberto Roldan, and Yee I-Lann.

Established in 2004, Silverlens remains dedicated to championing artists and continues to blaze new trails as it celebrates two decades of creative vision.
