PCO: PBBM, First Lady now getting better

President Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos are seeing improvements in their condition despite still showing flu-like symptoms, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said.

The PCO said this after it announced on Wednesday evening that the First Couple had been advised to get some rest after getting sick following their schedules over the past few days.

In a statement on Thursday afternoon, March 21, the PCO said the First Couple's condition is improving.

"The President and the First Lady continue to experience flu-like symptoms but with improvements, maintaining stable vital signs," it said.

"They are advised to continue medications, rest, and hydration for full recovery," it added.

Despite this, the PCO said President Marcos continues his work and hopes to be cleared to resume his activities soon.

"The President continues to work in his residence, handling correspondence and directives within medical advice," it said.

"He anticipates resuming full public engagements soon, per his physician’s clearance," it added.

Communications Secretary Cheloy Garafil said on Wednesday that the President's schedule in the next few days was cleared due to this development.

"All his appointments today and in the succeeding days have been canceled," she said.

President Marcos and First Lady Liza arrived in the Philippines on Saturday, March 16, after a six-day working and state visits to Germany and the Czech Republic.

On Monday, the President graced the ceremonial signing of the concession agreement for the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and led the oath-taking of newly promoted police officials.

On Tuesday, he participated in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Country Roundtable in Malacañan.
