Sec Remulla to 2 new DOJ officials: 'Put your heart in serving Filipinos'
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla on Friday, March 15, urged two newly appointed officials at the Department of Justice (DOJ) "to put their heart in serving Filipinos."
The two officials appointed recently by President Marcos are DOJ Assistant Secretary Eliseo D.C. Cruz and Commissioner Elihu A. Ybanez for the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG), an agency under the DOJ.
“Maraming pagsubok sa daan na ating tatahakin pero laging panatilihin ang tikas ng inyong mga puso sa pagsisilbi sa taumbayan, kayo ang mga bagong mukha, bagong pag-asa sa ating Bagong Pilipinas (There will be many challenges in your path but always maintain your resolve in your hearts in serving Filipinos, you who are new faces, new hopes for a new Philippines),” said Remulla.
"Set your trails ablaze, march on with pride and honor,” he also told the new appointees.
He assured them: "I look forward to working with you with a shared vision of advancing justice in our land. Your extensive experience in your own fields will undoubtedly bring meaningful reforms to this Department."
Assistant Secretary Cruz is “a Philippine Military Academy (PMA) graduate and a retired major general of the Philippine National Police (PNP) who served for 37 years,” the DOJ said.
“He led the investigation into the P6.7 billion drug haul in Manila several years ago,” it said.
It added that “PCGG Commissioner Ybañez is a former Court of Appeals (CA) Associate Justice and a very experienced litigator.”
