SWS: Marcos admin gets 'very good' net satisfaction rating in Q4 2023

The fourth quarter of 2023 Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey revealed the Marcos administration has received a “very good” net rating of +52.
SWS vice president Jay Sandoval presented the survey results at the 2024 SWS Survey Review on Thursday, Feb. 8, where he explained that the net satisfaction rating is the difference between those who were satisfied and those who were dissatisfied with the government's performance.
SWS classifies net satisfaction ratings of at least +70 as “excellent,” +50 to +69 as “very good,” +30 to +49 as “good,” +10 to +29 as “moderate,” +9 to -9 as “neutral,” -10 to -29 as “poor,” -30 to -49 as “bad,” -50 to -69 as “very bad,” and -70 or lower as “execrable.”
Marcos’ governance report card
Out of 10 specific performance subjects rated, net satisfaction ratings of the Marcos administration were very good on three subjects, good on one, moderate on two, neutral on two, and poor on two.
The net satisfaction rating of the national administration was very good on improving children’s education (+67), helping disaster victims (+61), and helping the poor (+52).
Meanwhile, it was good on preparing for climate change (+37) and moderate on ensuring food security (+29) and anti-illegal drugs campaign (+18).
The government was neutral on ensuring no family will be hungry (+3) and fighting corruption (-9) and poor on fighting inflation (-29) and ensuring oil companies will not take advantage of oil prices (-16).
Sandoval noted that the Marcos administration’s net satisfaction ratings for fighting corruption and inflation “used to be positive.”
The Fourth Quarter 2023 SWS survey was conducted from Dec. 8 to 11 through face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adults nationwide.
