The office of Public Relations and Corporate Affairs, headed by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Ma. Flordeliza R. De Guzman, MA.Ed., released the three-day-long activity plan for St. Bernadette College of Alabang, Inc. in celebration of the college's 41st founding anniversary. The theme for this year is "SBCA C.A.R.E.S @ 41: Championing Academic Resilience and Enhancing Human-Tech Skills in Education."

The celebration is slated from Feb. 6 to Feb. 8, 2024. Day one (Tuesday, Feb. 6) the three-day program shall kick-off with the motorcade at 3 p.m, to be joined by the SBCA Community. The motorcade shall trail East Service road to Alabang Jollibee Junction; to Ayala Mall South Park – turning right along Montillano St. The motorcade is expected to be back at SBCA at 5 p.m

Day two (Wednesday, Feb. 7) The day starts with a thanksgiving mass, to be officiated by Rev. Msgr. Tomas Gonzales and Rev. Fr. Rustico Cruz at 8:30 a.m at the Basic Education Quadrangle. The office of the campus ministry, headed by Mr. Christian Ruedas assured that members of the Board of Trustees, members of the administration, faculty members, non-teaching personnel, industry/community partners, parents and alumni, will be present during the Thanksgiving Mass.

After the mass, the awarding of outstanding alumni shall follow. This year’s awardees are: John Anatol A. Magana (College Class Batch 2003 - ACT) – Alumni Loyalty Award, Glen M. Pura (High School Batch 2006) – Alumni Loyalty Award, James P. Bangaysiso (SHS Batch 2019) – Alumni Merit Award, Patricia Ann C. Antenor (JHS Batch 2017) - Alumni Merit Award, and Lorena N. De Guzman (College Class Batch 2021 -BSIT) – Presidents’ Honorary Alumni Service Award and Alumni Loyalty Award.

The Alumni Ceremony is to be followed by the opening of Intramurals 2024, at 10 a.m. Alfredo Escoña II and Leo R. Atenta, the overall sports committee chairs revealed that this year, there are four color-themes (red team, yellow team, blue team, and green team) competing for various sports events such as basketball, volleyball, badminton, and more. During the Opening of Intramurals, Mr. Marlon Steven Montilla II shall light the Intramurals Cauldron, and Mr. Dan Ofianga shall lead the Oath of Sportsmanship. Ms. Maria Ramona Cosay Gonzales, MA.Ed. and Mr. Romualdo Rabonza, MBA; Basic Ed Principal and Vice President for Academic Affairs respectively, shall do the ceremonial tossing of the ball.

On the same day (12 p.m), the President and the Chair of the Board of Trustees, Dr/ Felicitas C. Rabonza, shall host a simple lunch at the Hospitality Management Mini Hotel for the Faculty, Members of the Administration and Non-Teaching Personnel of the College. 

The rest of the day shall be ball games.

Day three (Thursday, Feb. 8) SBCA, through a partnership with Ospital ng Muntinlupa and Muntinlupa City Health Office shall conduct blood donation and medical mission activity via DUGO KO, ALAY KO from 8 a.m to 12 pm. at the SBCA College grounds. A collaborative effort of Ms. Marites J. Rabonza, RN, the SBCA Campus Health Officer and Ms. Marilyn L, Guillen, RN, Caregiving trainer from TVET Department invite all able individuals to participate in the blood donation, especially those who have least 110 lbs (50 kgs), 18 to 60 years of age, with normal Blood Pressure and Heart Rate, with Hemoglobin : at least 125 mg/dl and with no Infectious diseases that can be transmitted through blood. Interested parties may come as walk-ins. 

In the afternoon at 1 p.m, SBCA shall host the 15 adopted families from Barangay Alabang through its Outreach Program, LINGAP BERNADETTIAN. During the program, the families shall be properly oriented with the purpose and objectives of LINGAP BERNADETTIAN, the permanent outreach arm of SBCA. On this day, “LUGAW NI ATE BADETTE” shall be launched, in full partnership with the feeding program of Barangay Alabang.

As a closing activity, the College Department shall stage LOVE FEST 2024. It shall feature the Mr. and Ms. SBCA (College), Battle of the Bands, and Let me Sing you a Love Song. It shall be an open-house, Grade 12 students from other schools are most welcome to join. There will be bazaars, free academic advising, free scholarship exams, raffles and much of fun. 

Lastly, as part of the yearly event of the institution, the Basic Education Department slated two fundraising events, a theater play and the search for Mr. and Ms. SBCA 2024. On March 21 and 22, a play production entitled SUNDALA will be staged at the Ayala South Park. It is a play inspired by Nicholas Pichay’s play heroine Teresa Magbanua that speaks of women empowerment. 

Adaptation writing and direction by SBCA alumna, Maureen A. Layno with assistance in stage direction by alumni, Er-lony N. Prudente and Ryan Computerich M. Montalbo. The second fundraising event is "The search for Mr. and Ms. SBCA 2024." This is the annual project of the Parent Council Officers that is now headed by their president, Lorena De Guzman, also a proud alumna of St. Bernadette College of Alabang.

Indeed, the good Lord has reasons for giving this institution long life of service to the community.
