DSWD introduces food stamps
A fully digitalized DSWD program that aims to combat involuntary hunger by providing food augmentation
The Food Stamp Program is a government flagship initiative, which was launched on July 18, 2023, as fully digitalized DSWD program that aims to combat involuntary hunger by providing food augmentation to the bottom one million households based on Listahanan 3, who are classified as belonging to the food-poor criteria as defined by the Philippine Statistics Authority, including pregnant and nursing mothers.

Under the program, beneficiaries will be granted monthly food credits worth P3,000 for six months. The food credits could be used to purchase nutrition-rich food items from DSWD-accredited partner retailers. Fifty percent of food credits will be allocated to carbohydrate-rich foods like rice and bread (P1,500), 30 percent for proteins like chicken or pork (P900), and 20 percent for vegetables, fruits, oil, salt, and condiments (P600).
