Three foreign fugitives wanted in their countries have been arrested and have been issued deportation orders by the Board of Commissioners of the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
Commissioner Norman Tansingco identified them as Chinese national Peng Yao, 30; Australian national Shaun Glen Mountney, 55; and South Korean national Yun Deokwon, 40.
"We will arrange their flights as soon as we have secured the necessary clearances for their departure. They have been placed in our blacklist and banned from re-entering the Philippines,” Tansingco said.
The BI said the three foreigners, all of whom were arrested during separate operations conducted by the BI’s Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU), are currently detained in the bureau’s detention facility in Taguig City.
It said that Peng, who was caught last Jan. 25 in Paranaque City, is “wanted by Beijing authorities for kidnapping and unlawful detention.”
“A warrant for his arrest was reportedly issued by the People's Procuratorate in Luxi, China. His passport has also been revoked by the Chinese government,” it said.
Mountney, who was arrested last Jan. 29 in Angeles City, Pampanga, is “wanted by authorities in Queensland for aggravated domestic violence and using a carriage service to menace, harass and offend his victim,” the BI said.
It said that Yun was arrested last Jan. 31. He is "wanted by authorities in Seoul for involvement in telecommunications fraud which was the basis for the Suwon district court in Korea to issue a warrant for his arrest,” it also said.
