MB124 shines the spotlight on 2023's newsmakers
Continues to provide news that inspires and empowers—be it on video or article formats
Manila Bulletin, as it celebrates its 124th anniversary, continues to provide news that inspires and empowers—be it on video or article formats.
Through its UPLIFT multi-media platform, the publishing company sought out stories of people and organizations who helped the country get through the years when Covid-19 took over the world. It was their way of appreciating those who weren’t fazed by the challenges brought about by the pandemic, and, at the same time, providing stories of hope and resilience to its readers and viewers.

This year, the Manila Bulletin extends its commitment to sharing inspirational stories of hope and success with the introduction of the MB Newsmakers of the Year Awards. Ten personalities or organizations have been carefully selected, considering their remarkable accomplishments.
The MB Newsmakers of the Year Awards, in conjunction with the celebration of the 124th anniversary, will be held on Feb. 15, 2024 at The Tent City, Manila Hotel. Each awardee will receive a trophy crafted from a rolled-up metal printing plate affixed on a wooden block. The significance of the printing plate comes from its role in the newspaper production process, serving as a crucial component for transmitting both images and text on the pages of the newspaper.
No two printing plates are alike, making each trophy special and unique. These rolled-up plates not only symbolize Pinoy pride but also represent the medium that has been instrumental in sharing impactful stories for over the span of 124 years.
