A decade of love: Yael’s onscreen proposal to Karylle

“At kung sigurado ka back then, mas sigurado na ako kasi mayroon na tayong 10 years together”

Love is definitely in the air this month of February. Sponge Cola vocalist Yael Yuzon proposed once again to his wife, host-actress Karylle Tatlonghari, on the popular noontime show "It's Showtime" on Feb. 26, 2024.

The heartwarming moment was posted by ABS-CBN, where the co-hosts of the show showered Karylle with congratulations for the success of her Filipino rock opera ballet, "Rama, Hari," which ran from Feb. 16 to 25, 2024.

After expressing her gratitude to her co-hosts and everyone involved in the opera, Karylle was taken by surprise when Yael appeared on stage, wearing a color-matching outfit. He congratulated her and expressed how proud he is of her accomplishments. "Congratulations on 'Rama, Hari.' As always, again, great work. Aside from the onstage stuff, lagi mo naman pinu-push ang Philippine theater at ang art. Ganun ka talaga eh, you’re  a very supportive person, and I'm very proud as your loving husband," Yael said.

With a wide smile, Karylle thanked him and shared how challenging "Rama, Hari" was for her. She revealed that she had personally invested in the show and worked hard to ensure that the theater would be filled throughout its 10-day run.

During the conversation, host Vhong Navarro asked Yael about their 10-year marriage. Yael reflected on their journey together, saying, "Actually, mag-10 years na kaming kasal. And kapag kasal na kayo ng 10 years, mas na-analyze mo ‘yung mga things through ups and downs,” Yael replied and the audience couldn't contain their excitement and shouted with kilig. “At kung sigurado ka back then, mas sigurado na ako kasi mayroon na tayong 10 years together.”

Then, in a moment that left the crowd in awe, Yael reached into his pocket and pulled out a yellow box. With a trembling voice, he went down on one knee and asked Karylle, "Will you marry me again?" The crowd went wild, screaming with joy. Overjoyed herself, Karylle gave the sweetest response, "Yes!"
