Paul McCartney reunited with iconic bass guitar

Sir Paul McCartney was reunited with his favorite bass guitar after losing it 54 years ago.

Last Tuesday, a 21-year-old UK film student named Ruaidhri Guest posted on X: “To my friends and family I inherited this item which has been returned to Paul McCartney.”

Experts at Hofner and guitar enthusiasts have confirmed that the instrument is indeed McCartney's lost left-handed bass.

The famous instrument, McCartney's instrument of choice during his years with the Beatles went missing after the “Let It Be” album sessions in 1970.

He bought it in Germany in 1961 for 30 UK pounds.

McCartney has referenced the bass throughout the years saying that “it must be out there somewhere.”

Hofner launched The Lost Bass Project last year, aiming to track down the guitar which it called the “Holy Grail of Rock and Roll.”
