The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Tuesday, Feb. 13, has vowed not to relent in its “all out war" against cyber child sexual predators.
“I reiterate our commitment of an ‘All Out War’ against cyber predators who prey on the innocent, especially children: we are watching your every move,” assured DOJ Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
Remulla, who first made the declaration in 2022, stated that the DOJ and its partners will “always take supreme consideration of our children’s safety especially within the bounds of cyberspace.”
The DOJ chief made the statement on the occasion of the Safer Internet Day.
Presidential Proclamation No. 417, series of 2018 declared that the second Tuesday of February of every year as “Safer Internet Day for Children Philippines” to serve as a reminder that every person must take part and protect children from all forms of abuse and exploitation and create a safer cyberspace.
The DOJ said the National Coordination Center Against Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (NCC-OSAEC-CSAEM) and other public and private partners spearheaded this year’s commemoration of the Safer Internet Day.
It explained that the NCC-OSAEC-CSAEM is a sub-structure of the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) which is chaired by Remulla with Justice Undersecretary Nicholas Felix Ty as undersecretary-in-charge.
