Drawing valuable insights from the mythical dragon’s personality, Feng Shui expert and geomancer Patrick Lim Fernandez unveiled the outlook for the Year of the Wood Dragon and provides guidance on navigating its energies.
The first is to maximize strengths by embracing what makes you unique and leverage your abilities. “Everyone is good at something so try to maximize your strengths. This will be something that's going to be prevalent for the year,” shared Patrick.
Next, empathy for others emerges as a guiding principle, echoing the dragon’s benevolent nature. “Try to find ways to be generous and benevolent with your powers and strengths, regardless of what you're good at,” he continued. “The more you're able to give, the more you’ll receive back.”
The year is characterized by yang wood energy, symbolizing growth like a flourishing tree. Embracing this energy entails going with the natural flow, urging individuals and businesses to seek opportunities for growth.
However, the year's yang energy may pose challenges in finding common ground or reaching compromises. Patience becomes paramount as navigating agreements might take longer than expected.
Patrick revealed that industries aligned with wood are poised for success, including:
- Knowledge sectors like teaching, education, training, learning, development, consulting
- Furniture, environment, nature
- Fashion, design
- Accounting, legal services
- Journalism
In the Feng Shui cycle, Period 9, marking an era of transformation and progress, also coincides with the new year. “This is the beginning of the next 20 years with Period 9,” Patrick revealed. “Until 2043, there's going to be a very strong female energy in different parts of politics, business, and areas of influence. This is a good time for women to be further in the limelight.”
During this time, a growing sense of self-awareness will prompt individuals to prioritize their reputation. The rise of influencers, where the person becomes the product, signals a trend toward introspection and personal branding in the coming years.
“If you want to invest in the long run, these are the industries to look at: technology, artificial intelligence, aviation, communication, energy, entertainment, events, food, and politics,” Patrick said.
