Manila LGU sets Apr. 30 deadline for free wedding registration

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan has set a registration deadline for its free civil and church wedding ceremonies on April 30.
The free mass wedding ceremonies will be sponsored by the local government.
Lacuna-Pangan also said that only 100 couples will be accepted for the church wedding, while for the civil ceremony, the number of couples may go beyond 100.
She encouraged the couples to register early at the Manila Civil Registry Office inside the Manila City Hall because the registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
The mayor said only those who have fully complied with the requirements will be entertained.
Both civil and church wedding applicants are required to present a certificate of no marriage (CENOMAR), a marriage license, and an affidavit of cohabitation (for those aged 23 or older who have been living together at least for the past five years), birth certificate, and a government-issued identification card with a Manila address.
Couples who have a child or children are also required to present their birth certificate.
Additional documents are required for church wedding registrants, including baptismal and confirmation certÃficates, marriage banns, and a church seminar.
