Three Taiwanese nationals, who are wanted in their country for alleged large-scale firearms and drugs smuggling, have been arrested in Pasay City, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said.
BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado identified them as Chen Chi-Yin, 32, and Huang Chun Fu, 31, who were arrested by the operatives of the bureau's Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU).
“The Philippines is not a sanctuary for wanted foreign criminals,” Viado said.
“Our close coordination with our foreign counterparts led to the arrest of these fugitives,” said Viado who also noted that those arrested were suspected members of the notorious Bamboo Triad syndicate.
“They will be deported, blacklisted and perpetually banned from re-entering the country for being undesirable aliens,” he added.
