Gallup Yearender: Survey names the top 10 drama actors in South Korea in 2024
Polling firm Gallup Korea released its year-end survey of the top 10 Korean drama actors in 2024.
Gallup Korea conducted the survey from Nov. 11 to 25 this year among 1,741 respondents aged 13 and older nationwide in South Korea except Jeju Island about the drama actors who shined in 2024.
Getting first place in the survey with 11.9 percent was actress Kim Tae-ri for her drama “Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born” on tvN.
“Queen of Tears” stars Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won grabbed the second and third places, respectively, with 11.7 percent and 8.9 percent.
Korean actor Byeon Woo-seok of “Lovely Runner” placed fourth with 5.5 percent followed by Nam Koong-min of “Lovers” with 4.9 percent.
In the same Gallup Korea survey in 2023, the top five drama actors were Nam Koongmin, Park Eun-bin, Song Hye-kyo, Ahn Eun-jin Ahn and Song Joong-ki.

Here are the top 10 Korean drama actors who shined in 2024 based on the Gallup Korea survey:
1st Place - Kim Tae-ri (“Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born,” tvN) - 11.9%
2nd Place - Kim Soo-hyun (“Queen of Tears,” tvN) - 11.7% "Queen of Tears" (tvN)
3rd Place - Kim Ji-won (“Queen of Tears,” tvN) - 8.9
4th Place - Byeon Woo-seok (“Lovely Runner,” tvN) - 5.5%
5th Place - Nam Koong-min (“Lovers,” MBC) - 4.9%
6th Place - Han Suk-kyu (“Doubt,” MBC) - 4%
7th Place - Park Shin-hye (“The Judge from Hell,” SBS / “Doctor Slump,” JTBC) - 3.7%
8th Place - Cha Eun-woo (“Wonderful World” and “A Good Day to Be a Dog,” MBC) - 3.5%
- Kim Soo-mi (“Country Diaries,” MBC) - 3.5%
10th Place - Jang Na-ra (“Good Partner,” SBS) - 3.4%
This was the first time for Kim Ji-won, Byeong Woo-seok, Park Shin-hye, Cha Eun-woo, and Jang Na-ra to enter the top 10 in the survey.
Kim Soomi passed away on Oct. 25 this year at age 75.
Actors who received more than 1 percent of the responses outside the top 10 were Park Eun-bin (3 percent), Song Hye-kyo (2.7 percent), Song Joong-ki (2.2 percent), Kim Nam-gil (2.1 percent), Jung Hae-in, Kim So-yeon, Ra Mi-ran (2 percent), Lee Ha-nui, Shin Min-a (1.9 percent), Ahn Eun-jin (1.8 percent), Go Doo-shim (1.6 percent), Ji Sung (1.5 percent), Lee Byung-hun (1.4 percent), Kim Hye-ja, Lee Soon-jae (all 1.3 percent), Kim Go-eun, Han Ji-min, Park Seo-joon, Kim Hye-soo, Choi Soo-jong (all 1.2 percent), and Kim Yoo-jung, Ji Chang-wook, Jo Jung-seok (all 1.1 percent).
