Manhunt vs remaining suspect in Davao de Oro robbery launched

The Davao de Oro police disclosed on Thursday, Dec. 26, that an extensive manhunt is underway to apprehend the remaining suspect in the murder of a security guard and recovery of stolen cash totaling P3.7 million in Compostela, Davao de Oro on Monday, Dec. 23.

Police urged the public to provide any relevant information that may aid in their ongoing investigation.

A suspect, John, 40, was caught in a hot-pursuit operation later that day and a case has been filed against him.

Police said evidence gathered during the investigation and positive identification by witnesses led to the filing of the case against the suspect.

Lawmen also recovered the suspects’ getaway motorcycle. Forensics investigators are combing the vehicle for evidence.

John is under the custody of the Compostela police.
