A security guard was shot dead during a robbery on Monday morning, Dec. 23, in Compostela, Davao de Oro.

The victim was identified as Dhonald James Pamisaran Crusio.
A closed-circuit television camera footage
showed a man opening the doors of a white pickup truck parked infront of a commercial establishment.
Moments later, a female teller emerged with a bag of money and a security guard escorting her.
As the teller entered the vehicle, a man armed with a revolver suddenly appeared and pointed a gun at the security guard.
The security guard resisted but was shot by the suspect. The victim slumped to the ground and died on the spot.
Another man appeared and grabbed the bag containing P3.7 million from the vehicle as his cohort picked up the victim's service firearm.
They fled on foot toward a motorcycle then transferred to a pickup truck.
A follow-up operation resulted in the arrest of one of the suspects in Compostela on Monday.
The suspects are reportedly members of a group involved in past robbery incidents in the province who were freed after posting bail.
Police did not identify the arrested suspect who is now detained in the police station.
Police said the suspects might have monitored the victims' movements prior to conducting the robbery.
The bank mourned the death of the victim and vowed support to his family.
Police are conducting a manhunt against the escaped suspect. Local officials have offered a P200,000 reward for the arrest of the suspect.
The teller and driver were unharmed.
Authorities vowed to step up police presence to deter crimes in Davao de Oro particularly this holiday season.
