A Chinese national has been arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Makati City and seized from him were 11 self-sealing transparent plastic sachets with 10.2 grams of shabu.
The NBI identified him as Wang Kejun who has been charged with violations of Republic Act (RA) No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Wang's arrest was done during a drug buy-bust operation conducted last Dec. 5 by the NBI National Capital Region (NBI-NCR) in coordination with the NBI-Dangerous Drugs Division, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The NBI said "the seized items were turned over to the NBI-FCD (Forensic Chemistry Division) for laboratory examination, and the eleven (11) specimen tested positive for methamphetamine hydrochloride, a dangerous drug, with approximate weight of 10.2433 grams.”
It said the buy-bust operation was conducted after the NBI-NCR received “a reliable information that Subject Alias Tang, later identified as Wang Kejun, and his cohorts are engaged in the sale and distribution of methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu.”
After proper coordination with PDEA and PNP, it said a test-buy operation was conducted in Makati City and confirmed that the crystalline substance bought from Wang Kejun was shabu.
