Angkasangga nominee graces habal-habal summit in Cebu City

CEBU CITY -- In an unprecedented show of unity and support for the local transportation sector, George Royeca, Angkasangga party-list nominee, graced the Habal-Habal Summit 2024 at the SR Grounds here on Dec. 7.

The event had an overwhelming turnout from the habal-habal community which is keen on fostering a unified front for sustainable and inclusive transportation solutions.

Royeca, an advocate for the rights and recognition of motorcycle taxis in the Philippines, underscored the critical role of the habal-habal riders in the urban mobility landscape.

In his address, he highlighted the necessity of rallying together under the Angkasangga party-list, a movement aiming to secure a safer, more reliable, and regulated environment for motorcycle taxis or habal-habal across the nation.

"The essence of today’s gathering goes beyond just celebrating our contribution to Philippine society, it’s a testament to our collective endeavor to create a better, more inclusive future for habal-habal riders," Royeca said. "By uniting under the Angkasangga party-list, we are taking a significant step towards ensuring that every ride is safe, every driver is competent and recognized, and our community thrives."

The summit featured insightful discussions, workshops, and exhibition showcases, all aimed at highlighting the advancements, challenges, and opportunities in the habal-habal sector.

Angkasangga's participation not only elevated the event's significance but also cemented the importance of collaboration between policymakers, transport operators, and the riders in charting the course for the future of urban mobility in the Philippines.
