Mayor Dale “Along” Malapitan of Caloocan City remains the favored candidate for the upcoming 2025 local elections, according to a survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) in October 2024.
This survey took place following the period for filing certificates of candidacy (COC). Malapitan garnered 81 percent of the support, while his opponent, mayoral candidate Antonio Trillanes IV, received 15 percent.

Residents of Caloocan have previously highlighted the Malapitan administration’s focus on community-oriented initiatives, including ongoing street lighting, large-scale infrastructure projects, free healthcare services, free education, and effective disaster response during Typhoons Carina, Enteng, and Kristine, as key factors in their endorsement of the Mayor.
In a July 2024 survey, SWS reported that four out of five residents expressed satisfaction with Mayor Malapitan’s leadership, describing him as a “great leader” whose governance is characterized as “productive,” “helpful,” “efficient,” and “approachable.”
Meanwhile, the City Government was recognized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) for the city's business-friendly initiatives and the Department of Finance (DOF) for its outstanding growth of local source revenues as the 8th Highly-Urbanized City (HUC) in the country, while the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) conferred the Seal of eBoss Compliance for the implementation of the city's fully-automated Business One Stop Shop.
The PCCI likewise declared its commitment to support Malapitan's leadership, particularly his excellent leadership and his programs to uplift the city’s business communities.
"We recognize the commendable efforts of Mayor Along to support the business community in the city, driven by his exemplary leadership and valuism. The Caloocan chapter of the PCCI pledges its full support for the city's effort to be recognized as the most business-friendly LGU," said Mr. Oliver Uy, President of the PCCI-Caloocan.
