I will never forget Ate Vi. My first TV Entertainment Host coverage was the MMFF float parade.
WTFu by MR. FU: The idol and the star
At a glance
The late April Boy Regino was once a favorite personality on different radio stations, especially during my time as a radio jock. (suki si koya!) His songs were always part of our playlist. (di kayang tanggapin na mawawala sa listahan!) He would also do regular rounds to promote his songs (may pa-radio tour!) and attend radio concerts for the fans. (pangfinale namin lagi yan!)
When he had to slow down due to health problems, he would still visit FM stations now and then and perform. His love for his craft and fans was unconditional. (hagisan ng cap yan!)
Last Friday, I hosted the red carpet premiere of IDOL: The April Boy Regino Story by Premiere Water Plus Productions at the Great Eastern Hotel. (may pa water ba ito?!) The movie highlights the struggles and success of the multi-awarded performer. Up-and-coming actor/singer John Arcenas plays the lead role (mahal na kita bro!) with the direction of Direk Efren Reyes.
Madelyn, the wife of April Boy, got emotional during my interview at the event. But she is happy with the tribute. She was even present during the shooting to supervise some scenes because producing this film was one of April Boy's last wishes. (may forever sa movie!) It is now being shown in cinemas nationwide. (go na!)
Days before this premiere, My Marites University co-hosts (Rose, Jun, and Ambet) and I attended the grand launch of the Metro Manila Film Festival entry Uninvited by Mentorque Productions at the Solaire Resorts North. The movie is topbilled by another idol, the Star for All Seasons, Ms. Vilma Santos. (I love you, Lucky!!!)
I will never forget Ate Vi. My first TV Entertainment Host coverage was the MMFF float parade. (di ko na matandaan year!) Ate Vi was very accommodating in granting an ambush interview with me while we were on her Mano Po float.. (umaandar ha at di naman nya ako knows!)
I have witnessed countless media conferences (invited ako ha, hindi uninvited!) and I must say the Uninvited event is the grandest so far. Celebrities, Media friends, and even popular vloggers (umeeksena ha!) were present. (kasama siempre major cast like Tirso Cruz III, Aga Muhlach at Nadine Lustre!)
Ate Vi’s star will never wane (sure ako dyan!) and will always have a heart for the industry. Aside from promoting her film, she also asked the moviegoing public to support the other entries for the 50th anniversary of the MMFF this Christmas. (invited daw ang lahat ha!)
