Over 500 personnel of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) had received pneumococcal vaccination that could protect them from virus and other infectious diseases like pneumonia, meningitis and sepsis.
In a statement on Thursday, Nov. 21, the NBI said the vaccination was conducted at the NBI headquarters and its regional offices last Nov. 11 pursuant to the directive of NBI Director Jaime B. Santiago.
“Director Santiago said that the vaccination program is in line with the NBI management’s goal to uphold the welfare of every NBI employee and promote healthier working space,” the bureau said.
The vaccination drive was conducted by the NBI Medico-Legal Division (NBI-MLD) headed by DR. Al Anthony M Chua.
The NBI said the vaccination drive is still ongoing. It urged those who have not been vaccinated to coordinate with NBI-MLD.
