A man, who has been charged in court with statutory rape and other sexual assaults against two children, has been arrested in Koronadal City, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said on Thursday, Nov. 21.
The NBI identified him as Walter Zulla Advincula who was apprehended last Nov. 19 by operatives of NBI Central Mindanao Office (NBI-CEMRO) based on the arrest order issued by the regional trial court (RTC).
It said: “Advincula, accused of sexually abusing two minors aged 10 and aged 15, has been charged with Statutory Rape under Paragraph (1) (D), Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code as amended by R.A. 8353;, Sexual Assault (2 counts) in relation to Section 5 (B) of R.A. No. 7610; Acts of Lasciviousness (3 counts) under Article 336 of the RPC in relation to Section 5 (B) of R.A. 7610; and Lascivious Conduct (4 counts) under Section 5 (B) of R.A. 7610."
“Immediately after the issuance of the Warrant of Arrest by the RTC Branch 62, the manhunt to arrest the subject began that resulted to the immediate apprehension of Subject in his hideout,” it also said.
The NBI said the charges against Advincula were filed by the parents of the victims who complaint that their children have been abused since September 2024.
Advincula is detained at the NBI-CEMRO office in Koronadal City.
