Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan led the conduct of wellness check on evacuees from seven coastal barangays, in preparation for the possible onslaught of Super Typhoon Pepito on Sunday, November 17.
The mayor visited the six evacuation sites in Tondo and Sampaloc that were prepared by the Manila Department of Social Welfare (MDSW).
She asked the evacuees not to leave the evacuation centers yet because the rain and wind caused by the typhoon could still intensify.
According to the local government, the residents who were living along coastal areas in Barangays 101, 105, 128 and 598, Baseco, Parola 1 and 3, and Isla Puting Bato were ordered to evacuate on Saturday, November 16.

It said around 750 families are temporarily taking shelter in the evacuation centers.
MDSW personnel had already distributed modular tents and hot meals to the evacuees.
Meanwhile, the mayor continued to urge families living in low-lying areas to evacuate.
She also went to the Command Center of the Manila Disaster Risk and Reduction Office (DRRMO) to monitor the flood prone areas in the city.
