A total of 115 new corrections officers who graduated on Thursday, Nov. 14, after finishing their mandatory trainings will be deployed to various prison facilities of the Bureau of Correction (BuCor).
In a statement, BuCor said there are now 3,710 corrections officers who have completed the trainings.
It said that 3,067 new recruits successfully finished the Basic Training Course for Corrections Officer 1 while 643 custodial officers completed their Mandatory Training in preparation for their promotion.
The recruitment and trainings are part of BuCor's efforts "to enhance its workforce," it also said.
It pointed out BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio P. Catapang Jr. has always advocated “the importance of professional growth within the agency, stating that he is committed to ensuring that BuCor officials do not retire at the lowest rank.”
