A historical series starring Jeon Jong-seo has been named as the No. 1 worst Korean drama of 2024.
Korean media outlet Joy News 24 marked its 20th anniversary by conducting a survey from Sept. 30 to Oct. 8 about dramas, variety shows, movies, actors and singers that shined in 2024.
The survey was conducted among 200 people in the Korean entertainment industry, including entertainment and broadcasting company employees, movie and broadcasting content producers, and entertainment reporters.
“Queen Woo,” the TVING drama starring Jeon Jong-seo, Kim Mu-yeol and Ji Chang-wook, received 39 votes to emerge as the No. 1 worst Korean drama of the year to date.

The drama was criticized by viewers for provocative scenes and historical distortion, according to Joy News 24.
Voted as the No. 2 worst Korean drama of 2024 with 37 votes is the SBS TV drama “The Escape of the Seven” starring Um Ki-joon, Lee Yu-bi, Hwang Jung-eum, Lee Joon, and Shin Eun-kyung
“The drama, which only pursued provocation without context, failed to gain popularity, let alone viewership,” according to a report by Joy News 24.
The 50-episode KBS2 drama “Beauty and Mr. Romantic,” starring Im Soo-hyang and Ji Hyun-woo, got 28 votes and ranked as the third worst Korean drama of the year.
Also making the list of the worst Korean dramas of the year are tvN's “Love Next Door” with 13 votes, Netflix’s “Sweet Home 3” with eight votes and “Gyeongseong Creature 2” (nine votes), and “Red Swan” and “Korea-Khitan War” (six votes).
Joy News 24 said 20 people did not respond to the question about the worst drama of the year.
