San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora on Monday, October 28, inspected the San Juan City Cemetery to ensure its readiness for the upcoming observance of Undas in November.
During the inspection, Zamora, accompanied by city officials and department heads, assessed the cleanliness and order of the cemetery facilities.
He added that a rerouting scheme would be implemented from November 1 to 3 to ensure smooth traffic flow, along with guidelines for those planning to visit the cemeteries.
“Gusto ho kasi natin na magkaroon tayo ng maayos, tahimik, at payapang Undas sa taong ito at marami po tayong mga panuntunan na dapat sundin ng ating mga mamamayan sa kanilang pagdalaw po rito sa ating sementeryo (We want to have a well-organized, peaceful, and quiet Undas this year, and there are many guidelines that our citizens need to follow during their visit to the cemetery),” Zamora said.

The mayor also checked the availability and preparedness of essential support services, including security, garbage disposal, traffic rerouting, and medical assistance, to secure a safe and orderly environment for all visitors.
“We expect thousands of people to visit San Juan Cemetery in the next few days at handa naman po ang ating sementeryo sa pagdagsa ng ating mga mamamayan (Our cemetery is ready for the influx of our citizens),” Zamora assured.
However, he advised them to visit the cemetery before or after October 31 and November 1 to avoid the crowd and congestion of people.
“Ang aking abiso po, kung kaya h'wag sana tayong sabay-sabay sa October 31 at November 1 na pumunta kung may oras naman po tayo na medyo iwas po sa October 31 at November 1 mas maganda po sana para lang po hindi magsabay-sabay (If possible, let us avoid going all at once on October 31 and November 1. If we have the time, it would be better to visit before or after those dates to prevent crowding),” he added.
He assured that the San Juan City Police is in full force in securing the public's safety, as well as bike patrollers that will roam during Undas.
In addition, the local government assured that the St. John the Baptist Columbary and the Santuario del Sto. Cristo Crypt are prepared to accommodate visitors during All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day in the city.
Undas, observed annually on November 1 and 2, holds deep cultural significance for Filipinos, as it is a time when families visit cemeteries to remember, reconnect, and honor their departed loved ones.
“San Juan City remains committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for families observing this tradition,” the local government said.
