The Ortigas skyline once again lights up in pink as Marco Polo Ortigas Manila welcomes October in support of its Pinktober initiative, aimed at raising awareness for breast cancer. This year, the hotel partners with Cardinal Santos Medical Center to enhance its advocacy.
To commemorate Pinktober, Marco Polo has introduced a special Pink Latte (P200 per serving), available throughout the month at five of its restaurants and bars, including in-room dining. Guests can enjoy the drink at Café Pronto, Cucina, Lung Hin, and Connect Lounge. The Pink Latte features a vibrant hue and creamy texture, combining the earthy sweetness of beetroot with rich milk. A touch of espresso adds depth, while notes of vanilla or cinnamon round out the flavor profile. This beverage not only delights the palate but also serves as a symbol of community support for a vital cause.
“Marco Polo Ortigas Manila is grateful to its stakeholders and patrons, for allowing continuity of the hotel’s breast cancer awareness advocacy. We wish to help, in what humble capacity we can, to fight the good fight against this illness,” General Manager Fredrik Johansson shared. “We learned that in the Philippines, breast cancer occurrence is among the highest in Asia. Verified data affirms the ever-increasing need to raise awareness, in order for more lives to be saved by early detection and proper treatment.”
Cardinal Santos Medical Center President and CEO Mr. Raul C. Pagdanganan averred, “We are pleased to partner with Marco Polo Ortigas Manila for this important cause. Proceeds from the sales [of the Pink Latte] will be generously donated to the Cardinal Medical Charities Foundation, Inc. (CMCFI), our arm in providing quality care for the underserved. These contributions will have a significant impact, providing much-needed financial support to underprivileged patients seeking breast cancer treatment. As a PhilHealth-accredited healthcare facility for the Breast Cancer Z-Benefit package, Cardinal Santos Medical Center remains committed to ensuring that these patients receive the quality care they deserve, and this donation will further enhance our ability to make life-saving treatment more accessible.”
The Pinktober campaign runs until Oct. 31, 2024, encouraging the community to participate in the fight against breast cancer.
