The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has started a reshuffle of its officials at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA.
BI Spokesperson Dana Sandoval said Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado has appointed Mary Jane Hizon as chief of the BI’s Immigration Protection and Border Enforcement Section (I-PROBES) and designated Jonathan Fernando and Dennis Javier as terminal heads of NAIA Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, respectively.
In a statement, Commissioner Viado said the reshuffle is aimed at streamlining airport operations and enhancing efficiency.
“This reshuffling is the result of a comprehensive study of airport procedures," Viado said.
"We are committed to streamlining operations at the country's main gateway. Improving airport efficiency is one of my administration's top priorities, and we will continue making necessary changes to ensure smooth immigration processing,” he said.
“These adjustments are part of our mission to provide faster, more efficient service to passengers, while still maintaining strict enforcement of immigration laws. We are strengthening our systems to meet the increasing demands of modern travel,” he also said.
He stressed that the reshuffle at the NAIA was just the first of many steps as he pointed out that more structural changes will take place in the coming weeks.
