Two Chinese nationals, who have been declared undesirable aliens, have been intercepted at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) before they could leave the Philippines, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Monday, Oct. 14.
“They were not allowed to board their flights after their names yielded positive derogatory hits in our records while our officers processed their documents in our departure counters,” said BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado.
The two foreigners identified as Shen Hao Dong, 26, and Liu Huan, 33, are now detained at the BI's facility in Taguig City pending their deportation.
The BI said Shen was intercepted by immigration officers at the NAIA Terminal 1 last Sept. 29 before he could board a flight to Xiamen, China.
“Records showed that Shen was ordered deported by the BI board of commissioners on Nov. 21 last year for being undesirable due to his alleged involvement in prostitution, human trafficking and labor exploitation,” it said.
Liu, on the other hand, was intercepted at the NAIA Terminal 3 on Sept. 21 before he could take his flight to Bangkok, Thailand.
“Liu was ordered expelled by the BI on May 25 last year after the Beijing government sought his deportation and of 15 other Chinese nationals who are wanted in China for economic crimes,” the BI also said.
