Former Pangasinan governor backs son’s 2025 bid


LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Abante Pangasinan Ilocano chairman former Gov. Amado Espino Jr. endorsed son Amado “Pogi” Espino III for governor and former Dasol Mayor Noel Nacar as vice governor of this province in the May elections.

In a press conference at River Palm Hotel and Resort in Bugallon, this province, on Monday, September 30, Espino Jr. also revealed other candidates in the party’s lineup – Ricky Camba for provincial board member in the first district; Nikki Boy Reyes in the second district; former Calasiao Mayor Joseph Arman Bauzon in the third district, Mangaldan Councilor Aldrin Soriano in the fourth district, and Hero Sumera, a former Urdaneta City councilor, in the fifth district. 

Gov. Ramon Guico III defeated Pogi in the May 2022 elections.

Espino Jr. said it would be a tough battle in May due to the capabilities of Guico and his team.

He said they decided to run to once again serve the people and address issues concerning the province.

Among these issues are environment and peace and order at provincial capitol that has become a tourist attraction.

A college student was found dead in the area recently.

Pogi and his team will file their Certificates of Candidacy on Saturday, October 5.
