Over a decade since I started collecting art. (and boys. Chos!) Sir Manny V. Pangilinan inspired me to pursue this “expensive” hobby. (o di ba close kami?!) During my stint in TV5, I had the opportunity to host an event in Hong Kong. (pang international ang beauty ko ‘day!) 

After the program, Sir MVP brought us to his office, surrounded by paintings of well-known Filipino artists. (ang lakas maka-yaman!) I told myself that I would also support the art industry. (bilang may angkin akong ka-artehan!)

I started with paintings with harvest as a subject, either featuring rice fields or fishing. (hindi pamimingwit ng boylets ha!) I love the good vibes they bring. They symbolize good fortune. (very feng shui ha!) Many celebrities like Kabayan Noli de Castro, Senator Grace Poe, Congressman Richard Gomez, Manila Vice Mayor Yul Servo, former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, and Sir Joey De Leon have harvest-themed artworks in their homes and offices. (ay magkasunod pa sila ni Yorme sa billing!)

Just like any collector, my taste changes with time. But the harvest will always be on my list. (bigas, isda, pwede rin prutas like.. saging!)

This idea inspired my team from FUk gallery.art.soul to initiate an exhibit titled: “Harvest of the Universe.” (i-harvest na yan!) It features art pieces from master artists Bernardo Maac, Nell Campos, Jose Yap Baguio, Angel Moreno, and Blaine San Luis. Some young artists are also part of the showcase. Most of the artworks are part of my collection.  (pwede ko na ilet go, basta i-buy ha!)

“The theme harvest will always be part of FUk’s collection. Mapa lumang obra o mga gawa ng batang artist, gusto namin may ganyan kami palagi. Hindi mawawala. First, many clients are interested in this subject. Second, It really gives good energy at the gallery," says Miranda Mendoza, FUk Art Associate. (kaya mag-harbat ka pa ng mga ganyan ‘day!)

The “Harvest of the Universe” art exhibit will be from Jan. 18 to Feb. 8, at the FUk Gallery.art.soul Ortigas Center Pasig. (icheck lang ang ig na @fukgalleryartsoul at fb na FUk gallery para sa mga detalye!)

“We will be exhibiting different kinds of art techniques and inspirations of artists. We will be more than willing to assist art enthusiasts. Isa itong magandang pagsisimula ngayong 2024, ang magkaroon ng artwork na nagpapakita ng kasaganahan, para lalong maka-attract ng magandang buhay ang pamilya.” Miranda explains. (baka maka-attract din  tayo ng boys!)
