Malacañang declares Jan. 16 special non-working holiday in Navotas


Navotas City Mayor John Reynald "John Rey" Tiangco announced on Monday, Jan. 8, that Malacañang has declared Jan. 16 a special non-working holiday in the city in observance of its 118th founding anniversary.

Under Proclamation No. 435, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Jan. 4, the date was made a special non-working holiday in the city to allow its residents the opportunity to celebrate the city's foundation day.

The local government earlier announced the activities for the Navotas City's 118th founding anniversary, which include a Thanksgiving Mass, a night-market, a boat racing competition on net mending, dance contest, awarding ceremony for outstanding fisherfolk in the city, and a bike run, among others.

Tiangco earlier thanked the Navoteños for their cooperation and support to the local government  which led to its accomplisments.
