The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has hired an additional 44 non-uniformed personnel to beef up its operations.
The new personnel -- 25 females and 19 males -- took their oaths of office before Director General Gregorio Pio P. Catapang Jr. on Monday, Jan. 8.
Catapang told the new personnel: “Kung anu man ang mga pangit na nabalitaan nyo noon tungkol sa BuCor, kalimutan nyo na dahil tayo ngayon ang Bagong BuCor sa Bagong Pilipinas, kaya panindigan nyo yan (Whatever bad things you heard about the BuCor, forget it because we are the New BuCor of the New Philippines that we have to uphold)."
He also advised them: “Kung ano ang maiatang na trabaho sa inyo, pagbutihin nyo, huwag nyong insipin ang delihensya dahil kapag ang BuCor ay naging matagumpay, lahat makikinabang at may share ang lahat ng empleyado ng BuCor (Do well in whatever work you are assigned to do and never be involved in corruption because once BuCor succeeds everyone gets to benefit and every employee gets his or her shares).”
At the same time, Catapang told the new personnel "to be prepared as young blood since you already have the attitude, character and education, and all you need is to hold on to your values."
