Mayor Sandoval visits 13 families affected by fire in Malabon

Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval visited on Wednesday, Jan. 3, the 13 families affected by fire in Barangay Panghulo, Malabon City.

During her visit, relief goods were distributed to the affected families.
Among the donations were two sets of food packs, which include five kilograms of rice, canned goods, and coffee from the local government unit; and five kilos of rice, canned goods, chocolate drinks, and coffee from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The beneficiaries also received a hygiene kit with soap, slippers, mats, blankets, and underwear from the LGU.
They were given a kitchenware set from the DSWD, including a cooking pot, frying pan, stainless cup, ladle, plastic plate, and utensils.
Beneficiaries include 13 families or 50 individuals, including two woman who jumped off the roof during the fire.
Sandoval vowed that the local government will take necessary actions to further help the victims.
"Lubos po ang dalamhati ko para sa mga nasunugan dahil hindi po biro ang mawalan ng tirahan at mga gamit sa pagsalubong sa Bagong Taon (I express my deepest sympathy for those who were affected by the fire, as losing one's home and belongings during the New Year is truly challenging)," Sandoval said in a Facebook post.
"Makakaasa po kayong patuloy ang aming mga hakbang para po makatulong sa inyong pagbangon (Rest assured that our efforts to help you rebuild will continue)," she added.
The fire occurred at about 9:15 p.m. on Dec. 31, at 72 Panghulo Road, Barangay Panghulo, Malabon City.
