Malabon gov't extends help to 13 families affected by fire

Malabon City local government extended help to the 13 families who were victims of the fire in Barangay Panghulo, Malabon City, on Sunday, Dec. 31.

Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, along with City Administrator Alexander Rosete, the City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWDD), and the Malabon Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), promptly addressed the needs of families affected by the fire.
The City's Public Information Office (PIO) said that the evacuees were provided with modular tents and hot meals, and initial first aid was administered to those who sustained injuries and minor burns.

Meanwhile, the Sanitation Division Office distributed Aquatabs, which are water purifying tablets, for the evacuees to have clean drinking water. They also provided a designated area for the evacuees' pets.
The city government said they will continue assisting the affected families to ensure their safety and well-being while they remain in the evacuation center.
The fire broke out at about 9:15 p.m. and was put under control at 9:24 p.m. at 72 Panghulo Road, Barangay Panghulo, Malabon City.
According to MDRRMO, a certain Malaika Pelayo, 22, suffered a first-degree burn on the foot, while Wilma Pelayo, 53, got a first-degree burn on her right leg and foot.
