BI resumes face-to-face interviews on petitions for recognition as PH citizens
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) resumed on Wednesday, Jan. 3, the face-to-face interviews of applicants seeking recognition as Philippine citizens.
It noted that last May 5, 2023, “the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared that the Covid-19 pandemic no longer constitutes a public health emergency of international concern.”
Thereafter, President Marcos issued on July 21, 2023 Proclamation No. 297 which lifted the Public Health Emergency throughout the Philippines that was previously imposed back in 2020 due to the Covid-19 virus, it said.
“Thus, all prior Orders, Memoranda, and issuances that were in effect during the state of Public Health Emergency were deemed withdrawn, revoked, or canceled and are no longer in effect,” it also said.
