What’s with today’s song titles, so unique and so different sounding from those from yesteryear?

Consider:  Maymay’s “Autodeadma” and “Tsada Mahigugma,” Vice Ganda’s “Rampa,” Belle Mariano’s “Bugambilya,” Kim Chiu’s “Ms. Ukay.”

How far different are they---musically--- from the songs of a certain age, the likes of Ngayon at Kailanman, Till I Met You, Kahit Konting Pagtingin!

Remix versions of Rampa and those other songs have been compiled by ABS-CBN’s record label StarPop which recently  dropped the second volume of “StarPop: The Remixes.”

The album reintroduces previously released singles in a refreshing sound remix.

Included among the 11 tracks in the album are KD Estrada’s “Days” and Anji Salvacion’s “Paraiso.”

The first volume of “StarPop: The Remixes,”  released in  2022, also featured hits from Kapamilya artists.

Check out “StarPop: The Remixes Volume 2” available on various streaming platforms.

PASSERBY: A full subject course on Taylor Swift is being offered at the University of the Philippines this new semester. Several universities abroad also offer Taylor Swift courses. The popular singer is known for her meaningful compositions and humanitarian activities.

For a more Filipino touch, UP must also consider offering a subject course on National Artist for Film Nora Aunor, why not? The school already has a subject offering on Philippine teleseryes, designed by poet-academic Louie Jon  Sanchez.

“We know what you did last summer” was the cryptic note posted by   Kaye, Kathryn Bernardo’s sister recently on social media. People speculate Kaye’s note was addressed to her sister’s ex-BF Daniel Padilla.

Cristy Fermin warns that if and when Kim Chiu should decide to reveal the details of her former relationship with Xian Lim, such move could devastate the actor’s career.

The unexpected reunion between former lovers Jericho Rosales and Heart Evangelista Jan. 12 at an event in Solaire Resorts sparked kilig moments among fans and followers alike. Both seem ripe for a movie project together. How about a film for the   MMFF 2024?

Could it be true that Toni Gonzaga is returning to ABS-CBN? It seems the actress is co-producing a movie with Star Cinema. Network has yet to find a TV host who can outscream Toni in PBB.  

Fresh from the monster hit, Rewind, at MMFF 2023, Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera move into chapter two of their comedy series, Bonggang Villa, on Saturday, Jan. 20, 6:15 PM on GMA.

Dingdong and Marian are joined by Benjie Paras, Shamaine Buencamino, Pinky Amador, and new addition to the cast, Pokwang, herself a scene-stealer in MMFF entry, Becky and Badette.
